What are Venachar Lochside’s opening times?
Unless we have a wedding on, Venachar Lochside’s spa and sauna is open everyday from 10:00 to 21:00 with our café and light food offerings available to all spa and sauna visitors. Please your Sauna session in advance as it takes 2 hours to get to 100 degrees Celsius.
The Restaurant is open Thursday to Sunday 12:00 to 20:00 on days we don’t have weddings.
You can see when a wedding is on as there will be no availability to book for the day in the online booking system.
Does Venachar Lochside do gift vouchers?
Yes. Venachar Lochside offers gift vouchers, a perfect present for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas or simply to show you care. These vouchers can be redeemed against our wild-outdoor spa, fine dining restaurant, or a full experience combining both. You can choose from:
A Spa & Sauna voucher, starting at £15.
A Restaurant voucher, from £25 upwards.
A full Venachar Lochside Experience for two (ideal for couples or friends) priced at £100.
A more indulgent Intimate Voluptuous Date for Two, at £210.

Is there a café at Venachar Lochside?
Yes, Venachar Lochside has a café open Thursday to Sunday from 12:00 for the public (on days we don’t have weddings). We serve coffee, tea, cakes made in-house by our pastry chef, along with light lunch options and alcoholic beverages, all with views over Loch Venachar. You can book a table here.
There will be hot drinks available daily for spa and sauna guests for before or after their session.
Is there accommodation near Venachar Lochside?
Yes, Venachar Lochside has two lodges right next door, and in our neighbouring town Callander there are lots of great places to stay such as The AbbotsfordLeny Estates, Callander Youth Hostel, and The Waverly Hotel.
Are there jobs available at Venachar Lochside?
Yes, there are jobs for front of house, and chef staff live right now. You can see more by clicking here. In April 2026 we will be looking for a new head chef too.
Can you swim in Loch Venachar?
Yes, you can swim in Loch Venachar. The water is often described as clear, refreshing, and enjoyable, especially in the warmer months. Please note there are camping restrictions in place, supported by dedicated volunteers working to help protect the landscape and maintain the loch’s natural beauty.
Loch Venachar is home to local wildlife, including fish, geese, and other native species. We also regularly see organised and professional open-water swimming groups training here, thanks to the loch’s size, accessibility, and peaceful surroundings.

Does Venachar Lochside have changing rooms?
Yes, we have mixed gender changing rooms. They are located near the spa & sauna in our ex-boat house decorated with pretty fairy lights.
What activities are available at Venachar Lochside?
Venachar Lochside offers a range of activities for relaxation, adventure, and celebrations. Guests can enjoy wild swimming in Loch Venachar, experience the cold plunge or cold water therapy, unwind in the sauna, and hire paddle boards for open-water paddling. Our on-site café serves homemade cakes, tea and coffee, and our restaurant offers a fine dining experience with panoramic loch views. Venachar Lochside is also a unique venue for weddings.
