Loch Venachar Sauna
How much is the sauna at Loch Venachar?
We offer both private and mixed group sauna sessions at Venachar Lochside.
Private sessions include exclusive use of the sauna, spa facilities, and direct access to the loch, giving you the space entirely to yourselves. Mixed group sessions are shared bookings, where you’ll meet other guests joining at the same time, often with a similar interest in wellness and open-water experiences.
Private bookings are £105 per hour.
Mixed group sessions are £15 per person, per hour.
What makes Venachar Lochside’s sauna special?
Our lochside sauna is powered by electricity from the national grid, heating stones to produce clean steam when you pour water over them. Unlike wood-burning saunas, this method reduces local air pollution and supports higher, more consistent temperatures with precise control, improving both comfort and heat performance, especially in winter.
The sauna is typically kept at 90°C, a temperature ideal for traditional Finnish-style heat therapy. Its position beside Loch Venachar creates a unique hot-and-cold wellness experience, with uninterrupted views across the water, making it a standout destination for outdoor spa and sauna breaks in the Scottish Highlands and the Trossachs.
What else is included in my sauna session?
Your sauna session includes full access to our outdoor lochside spa facilities, all within the same booking. We’ve designed each experience to combine heat therapy with refreshing cold-water elements for boosting circulation and muscle recovery.
Every session includes
Wild swimming access
To Loch Venachar for open-water dipping or longer swims, depending on your comfort level
Fire pit seating area
complete with marshmallows for toasting and blankets
Cold plunge pool
For safe, immediate cold immersion after the sauna
Café access
during public opening hours, serving hot drinks and light bites
Lochside pontoon
offering easy and controlled access into Loch Venachar
How close is the sauna to Loch Venachar?
In the winter, the water comes right up next to the entrance for easy access. During summer when the water levels lower, there is a wee bit of a walk to get to the water.
